"The winner is Jason!" the king announced.
As Susan removed her helm she saw Nick talking to Jason.
"Did you know that was Susan the whole time?" Nick asked.
"What do you think she whispered to me? She's the pink knight." Jason said quietly so Otto wouldn't hear.
"Lord Jason. Remember the promise you made to Lady Susan? Well you better keep it. Get some rest brother. Congrats!" Nick said as he escorted Otto to the medical tent.
Jason approached Susan and gave her a hug. It was midday.
"Now to keep my promise. Ye ready my love?" Jason asked.
"Aye." Susan said as she gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
Susan took a few steps back and prepared to parry at her first love. Jason placed his helm back on his head as Susan did the same with hers. The crowd cheered even louder as the couple prepared to spar.
"No holding back! Let's go!" Jason yelled.
As the crowd continued to cheer for Susan and Jason, Mark watched Susan take a few hits and he cringed. Robert approached Mark and glanced at Jizel.
"Come on Lady Susan. Stay strong." Mark said quietly yet loud enough for Robert to hear.
"She'll be fine Mark. The tournament is over and this is just for fun." Robert said calmly.
Susan threw her sword to the left as Jason tried to hit her left leg. As the swords clashed Susan threw the swords in an arch from left to right. This motion threw Jason off as a distraction before she spun around and poked his left shoulder.
"Nicely done. Keep it up!" Jason encouraged Susan as he put his arm behind his back and tried to slash at her legs.
Susan flipped her sword to her other hand and jumped over his sword before landing and rolling to her right. She then brought her sword down on his right arm and it made contact.
"Aaaaagh!" he cried out in pain.
As he fell to his knees in defeat Susan sheathed her sword and kneeled down next to Jason. He had dropped his sword and lowered his head. Susan once again removed their helms as she saw Jason wince in pain.
Oh-no....did I really hurt him? she thought.
"It's just a graze. I'll be fine. Awesome job I wasn't expecting you to jump over my sword." he said.
"I'm so sorry. Pray ye forgive me my love." Susan said as she cried into his left shoulder.
"Lord Markington! Lady Susan! Congradulations!" Kimberly exclaimed as she walked over to the two with medical personnel.
"W-W-What? Oh my gosh....Jason! Mwah! You won the tournament." Susan said as she helped him sit up.
"Susan! Little sister, nicely done!" Nick exclaimed as he returned with Otto.
Nick and Otto were watching from the medical tent. Susan gently hugged Jason before standing up and approaching her brother. As she walked towards Nick she wiped away her tears. The medics quickly attended to Jason's shoulder as Kimberly picked up their helms and followed Otto back to the supply room.
"You did excellent. Brother Otto wishes to speak with you and the Knight's Council. Join us in the meeting hall after the ceremony." Nick says as he escorts her back to the bathroom to change.
After quickly changing Susan returned to her father's side with a wreath made of white flowers and green and blue lace. Jason held up his sword and Susan took hers out. She then placed the wreath on her sword and aimed it at Jason's. As the wreath was transferred from one sword to the other the crows erupted in shouts and applause. Once the wreath was received they both sheathed their swords and then Jason tied it to his belt.
